Harry Potter - The Hogwarts Mystery

Harry Potter

The Hogwarts Mystery

This is a game for all the Harry Potter fans, no matter how whom you are.
This game is played on a mobile phone, and is quite a nice game. You get to be a student in Hogwarts, meeting new friends, make decisions, and go to classes.

Story

The story takes place a around a decade before Harry reaches school. The game starts when you are in Diagon Alley, buying your books for your first year at Hogwarts. There you meet your first and closest friend, Rowan Khanna. There you tell Rowan about your brother, whom had been to Hogwarts and mysteriously disappeared. Then you hop on the Hogwarts Express, and reach your new school. There you are sorted into your house (You get to choose which one you want to be in) and classes start. Soon after that, you meet a nasty Slytherin girl named Merula Snyde. Have an experience locked in a room with Devil's Snare choking you. After that, you start making new friends like Ben Copper, and Penny Haywood. Ben is much like Neville Longbottom, a cowardly Gryffindor, and Penny is a bit like Hermionie Granger, but more interested in potions than anything else. Later, you hear  about the Cursed Vaults, and how they contain cursed ice. I have described only the main parts of the story because the finer details really depend on how you play the game., for example, I am a Slytherin, meaning that Rowan was too, and I tried to stay in the good books if the teachers. I also only described the first year, because that would take too much time to write and read, and I am not yet finished with the second year

Gameplay

The graphics are actually very nice in my opinion, and are somewhat nice to look at. However, the game play overall is not the greatest. I enjoyed talking to people and making different decisions, but the game's mechanic of to make sure you don't finish the game too quickly is to make you spend energy points that replenish over time. you start wit a max of 20 energy points, and once you spend them all, you have to wait 4 minutes for one energy point. To put this in perspective, a class typically takes around 30 - 40 points. The most annoying part is that once you spend all your points and you get out of the game to wait for more, by the time you have enough, you've probably forgotten about it. Though I like this game, many will not due the need to wait for long periods of time to progress in the game.
Good luck and have fun if you are playing this game.

Pokémon Go

Pokémon Go

Image result for pokemon go logoPokémon Go is a game designed to make you walk through and around your neighborhood. By doing so, you find pokémon and can catch them much like in the pokémon TV show you can get pokéballs and different berries to help 'catch 'em all' at Pokéstops. There are three teams you are allowed to join: Red, Yellow and Blue. Each team is designed for a different kind of pokémon trainer. When catching pokémon in this game, you do not have to weaken your opponent with your own pokémon, and just have to throw pokéballs at them. Each gym belongs to one team, and members of that team may put their pokémon inside to guard the gym and keep it to their own team. You can overthrow a gym with your own pokémon and win it for your team. With the new updates, there are raid battles, battles that have one extremely powerful pokémon for you and friends to attack. You may have up to 20 friends attacking at once! There are a lot of things in this game that could be better like the fact that you can't use your pokémon to damage wild ones to make it easier to catch them. Instead, you have to use Razzberies and often times, great balls and ultra balls instead of the regular pokéball. I also don't like that your pokémon do not evolve by themselves with experience. You have to catch more and more of them for candies, and the take forever to acquire. Take Magikarp for example, every time you catch one, you get 3 candies, and can give one to the professor for 1 extra. It takes 400 candies to evolve. that means you must catch at least 101 Magikarp to evolve it to Gyarados, and more for a better one. I have been playing this game for aroun 4 months now, and have caught 5 Magikarp. It also takes candies to make pokémon stronger, so you need more and more candy for everything. One more problem is that the candies of pokémon that are super common like Rattata and Pidgey go to complete waste once I've evolved 1 or 2 of them (I have 218 Rattata candies and 2 Raticate). This game isn't all too bad though, it can really kill time on road trips or anytime that you are a passenger in a car because you don't have to put any effort into walking at all! Overall, if I was to rate this game, I would say it gets a 3.5 star rating. This game is available for free on mobile devices. As always, good luck, have fun and stay safe (You should really stay alert, people have died playing this game).

Age of Mythology: Extended Edition

Age of Mythology: Extended Edition

Image result for age of mythologyReleased in 2002, Age of Mythology is a legendary game that I grew up with. I used to play this game all the time, and am pleased to finally write this review. This game is a real time strategy game based around war, in ancient times. Whats unique  about this game is that in this game you may train mythical beasts ranging from the Greek Cyclops to mighty Titans. This game is played on the computer, it can be played online. I play it on steam.

Gods and their benefits

Though the Titans are only in the extended versions of the game. This game is filled with many civilisations: the Greek, the Norse, the Egyptians, The Atlantans, and the Chinese. The original game only included Greek, Egyptians, and Norse. When you play, before the game commences, you must choose one major god to worship.
Each of the civilisations have 3 different gods:

Greek: Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades
Egyptians: Isis, Ra, and Set
Norse: Thor, Odin, and Loki
Atlantean: Gaia, Oranos, and Kronos
Chinese: Fu Xi, Nu Wa, and Shennong
Each civilisation has its own unique strategy, benefiting certain aspects of your arsenal. Each god benefits another part of your army, with the benefit of the civilisation (Example: Hades benefits his archers, and the Greeks have strong infantry).  With each god comes 6 minor gods with each of their own improvements to your army. You may choose 3 to advance through the ages, each of them give you unique god powers,  powers you may call upon at any time of the game to assist you, economically, or assist your army.

Advancing through the ages

There are 4 ages in the game, In the Archaic age, you have almost no military, and limited technologies. It is useful to scout the area for food sources, and gold during this time.

During the archaic age, you main aim is to gather resources and set up a basic economy.

In the Classical age, you have basic military, and some technology. During this time, what I do is try to build a small army to fend off enemy attacks and perfect my economy.

Then come the Heroic age, when you get your palaces, large buildings that withstand heavy attack and gives you a larger choice of military to attack with. At this time, you get siege weapons to tear down buildings. The heroic age is the time at which you need to set up trade routes to substitute for gold mines, and build up your army and upgrade it. At this time many people launch small attacks on their enemies to cripple their economies.

The final age is the Mythic age, the time at which you must upgrade and attack! You get powerful units and god powers to crush your opponents! In the Mythic age with certain upgrades, you can get a Titan to fight for you,  and research omniscience, which allows you to see all that your enemies see!

Types of Units

Each unit in the game is strong against one other type of unit and weak against a different unit (almost like Pokémon). There are 3 main unit types: Infantry, Heroes, and Myth units.

This game has tons of information embedded inside of it, and is a brilliant game to play. Each unit or building has a description of how significant it was in history (with exceptions on things like goats or pigs). There are many fun cheats in the game. To use a cheat, you must type the cheat in all caps in game. The cheats are so unique and funny, like GOATUNHEIM is a cheat that gives you the god power to make every unit in the game a goat.
I live this game and have learnt so much and I hope you will too so good luck and have fun!

The Impossible Quiz

The Impossible Quiz

The impossible quiz is such an old game, released on the 20th of February all the way back in 2007. This game is liked by so many people on the internet, that it has been on the top 10 games of notdoppler.com ever since it was there. This game is filled with 110 questions that are so ridiculously senseless, the only strategy for you to get through this game is to think vary far outside of the box* and don't try answering with any sense whatsoever. that will get you through this game (or of course, the impossible quiz wiki). The aim of the game is to answer all the questions and earn skips in the game and eventually finish all of the questions (hint: you need all of the 7 skips you get in order to complete the last level).

At just question 5, you probably would get stuck, considering you're actually supposed to move the mouse outside of the game and to the other side.
This game is truly legendary and I would definitely suggest it to anyone.
Have fun, and Good luck!

Jurrasic World: The Game

Jurrasic World the Game is one of those games that take real time to play.
It's about creating dinosaurs for you to level up, and to fight other dinosaurs.
This game is a rather large game due to it having many animations and 3D models for so many different dinosaurs, so I would not advise you to play it on an old device that's not very powerful, because it has a tendency to crash. This is a game played on your phone but I
recommend playing this on a tablet.
Anyway, There are four main types of dinosaurs.
Carnivores
Herbivores
Pterosaurs(flying dinosaurs)
and Amphibians (I really don't know)
Each class of dinosaurs has a disadvantage towards one and an advantage to another (and one that it is neutral to).
There are many different dinosaurs In this game, and each of them are sorted into these classes.
They are also sorted into the categories:
Common, Rare, Super Rare, and Legendary. Common is the weakest of all classes, and legendary is the strongest of them all. (There are hybrids of dinosaurs that are even more powerful but I'll let you learn about that yourself). There is a story line in this game but I never payed attention to it, just because it really has no end. There is a part of the game when you must use dinosaurs that live in the water, with 3 different classes instead of 4. They are: surface, cave, and reef. Reef has an advantage to surface, surface has an advantage to cave, and cave has an advantage to reef.in the water it is really quite the same as land as to battles except it is a bit more laggy. If you do want to play this game I will warn you that paying money is not worth it.This game has wonderful dino graphics and animations, there are around a hundred dinosaurs in this game with each of them having 4 different textures. Personally, I have been playing this game for a bit more than half a year now, I haven't spent any money and I am close to being half done with the game. Now this doesn't mean that the game takes a year to finish, it takes more because as you progress, the time it takes for dinosaurs to evolve, hatch and heal(after battles) get  higher and higher. due to the latest update, there is the raptor squad in the game. What the raptor squad does, is give you in game bonuses for extra attack, block, etc. The raptors in the squad are the same raptors in the movie (Charlie:attack Echo:sabotage Delta:support Blue:defence). The squad only can be used in some events, so they are not too useful. Updates come out very frequently. Not too long ago Ludia introduced us to the Cenozoic era, or the ice age, when wooly mammoths and smilidon (sabre tooth tiger) existed. This game isn't too bad but not that great in my opinion. It is very time taking, as it took me around a year to finish around 1/3 of the game, and I'm a pretty serious player! So if you start to play this game, you will soon realise that I only wrote a bare summary of what is really in the game. If you liked this post, read my other posts and see if you like them! Have fun and good luck!

Stick War Legacy Crown of Inamorta

Stick war legacy:

Crown of Inamorta

I already have a post for stick war legacy, but this post is for the Crown of Inamorta part of the game. The Crown of Inamorta is a tournament in the game in which you play against different types of characters in different modes of the game (deathmatch, classic..). On top of playing with different types of opponents you get to choose your own avatar. These are the avatars and their abilities:

Miner: Every time a miner deposits their gold, you get 10% extra.
Swordsman: They train 20% faster.
Archer: Controlled archers do 180% more damage.
Spearton: Regains thrown spears in 10 secs.
Mage: Creates 2 minions at a time, have double health.
Giant: Costs 25% less (1125 gold)and trains 2 times faster.

Although you do need to unlock them with crowns that you get after winning the tournament, most of them are really worth it. This part of the game is actually pretty fun to play because of the different maps and the fact that you get to have 15-25 upgrades for your units and that they refresh every game. I like playing as all of the avatars except for the swordsman because its really not that useful and I really don't use them very often. Speartons are a much better option. Make sure you check out my review of the campaign part of this game. Have fun playing this game!

Black 4

Black 4 is a game that I didn't know till very recently. It is about a man breaking into a big building. The intro didn't really specify much, but it might be a bank. You have 8 guns to use. All of them shoot very quickly except for the pistol, shotgun, and the rocket launcher. This game is actually very well programmed but I did find a glitch. I don't know how it happened, but I was walking towards the wall, and I went right through. And in that room, I skipped fighting almost all the enemies. In this game there are researches that you can research to upgrade your guns, you can upgrade you own speed, health and the slow motion ability. The slow motion ability basically allows you to slow down time, and dodge your enemies bullets. Many different enemies are in this game like turrets, police officers, and scientists. The turrets are very annoying because of their extreme health and their fast attacks. The way I destroy these pests are by using the one and only, rocket launcher! The rocket launcher is so powerful that it can destroy the turret in 1 shot.

This game is absolutely brilliant in my opinion so if you do want to play it, click here. Have fun and good luck!

Territory war

This game is very old and I have grown up with it just like the other games but this game is one of the best. You have your own team of stick figures and must kill everyone from the other team. Simple right? This game is sort of like those games when you have your own team of people and you choose to defend, attack or heal. But not quite. For one thing, there is no healing or defending, there's only running away and attacking. The maps are different too. Normal games have one small room as a map but this game has many different maps (my favorite is the hill). This game has a certain amount one player can walk every round and there are three ways of attacking:
1. Grenade - It works well only if you know how to use it. Very good range
2. Gun - high damage, but sort of high attack. (headshots are instant kills)
3. Boot - I rarely use this, but it is very useful if you are close to an opponent on a hill or next to a cliff. It's easy to use. Not that good damage, but can kick people off cliffs. (once someone falls off a cliff, he's dead.)
The best amount of people to play this is 1 or 2 people. You can play it here and make sure you have fun!

Electric man 2

Electric man 2 first of all, is a very old game. I still play it today and I still love it. This game is about a man that is electric fighting other people who are not electric. there are many different levels and you get to coustomize you look, name, and other things.  Unlike almost every game ever made, this game does not have any coins, upgrades or experience. This game is kid of easy if you know how to play. My tip for you if you are on low health is to hold the down arrow and any other arrow(except for the top arrow). By doing this you are just doing cartwheels and you can't be hurt. It is hard to attack while doing this and it's not that strong but at low health, it's worth it. you can play it here.

These are the six colors of that you can use. I always pick blue or light blue. The top left one is white by the way.

Check out more games like this at the stickpage.

Stick war legacy

Stick war legacy is the mobile version of the first stick war game. A lot has changed from the old stick war and Stick war legacy. To start Stick war legacy's unit costs are different. The costs are:
Miner           250 to 150
Swordwrath 150 to 125
Archidon      400 to 300
Spearton       400 to 500
Mage            1200 to 1200
Giant            1500 to 1500
In Stick war legacy you still can contol units, but it isn't as easy as the computer version (except for the archidon). In the first game the key to kill giants was speartons but now its mostly other giants just because the mages and giants don't stun your units anymore, they have some amazing knockback that pushes your units away. Now the giants are much faster than what they used to be. This game isn't out for apple gadgets yet, but CRAZYJAY and John Witham are working on making it possible to play on it. Some improvements I like are the new animations that some troops have like the swordswrath's jump attack and the animations that are in the last level. Stick war legacy makes you use your army much more in the harder levels. It used to be: get a few miners, get some speartons, control them and destroy the enemy statue. But now you need giants more, you don't control your speartons as much, and your swordsmen are much better. A few upgrades are different like  the spearton's max things are not like what they were. The swordwrath's speed upgrade is gone and they have a new helmet upgrade that upgrades their health and speed.

Support my mom!

This post is not about games, so if that's what you're looking for, scroll down! My mom is an artist and I wanted to take an interview and show you her AMAZING works.

Start of interview

Me: What inspired you to start drawing?
Devi: I've been drawing since some time ago, but since I moved to Korea, the Korean folk art was so simple, yet so beautiful and detailed so I tried to draw my own art and It became a hobby.

Me: Exactly when, did you start drawing?
Devi: I wanted to give my friend that was moving away a gift.

Me: What do you like to draw, and what do you not like to draw?
Devi: I like to draw flowers the most, and I used to think that I couldn't draw realistic animals and people but I found that with practice, I became better.

Me: What goal are you trying to achieve by drawing?
Devi: I want to empower girls and women around the world to make them happier and have more hope in life.

Me: Which do you like to draw more, black and white or color?
Devi: I like do draw a mix of color and black and white to create more contrast.

End of interview

Devi by the way, is my mom. I wanted to do an interview because I think it is a much more fun way of learning the information rather than a giant paragraph like I have done many times in my old blog. I personally have my mom as a role model in many ways. For example, I would have never started blogging if she hadn't. I know for a fact that I will never draw like my mom does because I never really liked drawing flowers and a lot of other things my mom draws. I Personally love comics so thats what I draw. Now I know that you all are waiting for the most important thing: The pictures!

Henry Stickmin series

Henry Stickmin Series

The Henry Stickmin Series is about a series of games about a stick figure in a world of stick figures.
You play as Henry, the main character. These games are like a make your own story books that give you choices to make to try and do something. Almost every time you click an answer you see a very amusing video clip. The games in this series are in order:
As I said, all of these games are very funny. The first one is very short though.
I personally like Fleeing the complex and Stealing the diamond most. This series has so many ways to fail and the most weird answer is probably the right one. I personally grew  up with these games so I would recommend you to try to fail and see what happens before you try to finish. Always remember to try for different endings.

The next few games I will review are from the same website: The Stickpage

Have fun!

Stick Empires

Stick Empires is technically part of the Stick War series because it is another version of the games even though its EXTREMELY similar to the Stick War 2. There are some changes in the costs of some units and researches, but they aren't very big.

Additions from the second game:

  • The new Elemental Empire is out!
  • There are empire coins and upgrades at the Armory.
  • There is a friends system in it. (Info at the bottom)
  • Some changes in the costs of units
  • 5 free Chaos Empire trails for everyone!
  • Like every online game, there's a gold membership.

Unit changes:

  • Swordwrath cost is reduced (150-125)
  • Archidon cost is reduced (350-300)

Gold Membership:

  • You get unlimited access to Chaos and Elemental empires
  • You get 1000 coins when you first get it.
  • You get 300 coins every month.
  • More of your recent battles are saved for you to watch later (Normally, you get 2, but with gold membership you have a lot more)
I think that Stick Empires is a very good game much like the Stick War games. Although, I think that CRAZYJAY should have made an online version of the first Stick War. That would have been much less laggy because the graphics on the first game is less complicated, there is a smaller population limit, and there are less units and NO researches. I think that helps game players MUCH more because in Stick Empires, I have won and lost so many battles only because of people lagging out of the name. The first game requires much less strategy and is better for younger kids.

Friends system:

On the bottom right of your screen once you have logged into Stick Empires you see your username and your code. If you click on it a box appears showing you all your friends. By the way, to get a friend you need to know their username AND their code. Once you have your friends, you can chat with them by clicking their name, and battle them by clicking the swords on your friend.

There is a lot of things that I left out of this blog post so, please look at the previous blogs for more information and try Stick Empires, Stick War 2, Stick War 1. If you want to read more about Stick Empires, look at the DEV blog. Make sure you check out the strategy guide.

Stick War 2

Stick War 2 is similar to the first game in many different ways. The aim of the game is still to destroy the enemy statue and a lot of the units are the same.

New things:

1. There are research buildings, and you can see your castle. (Uh, yay?)
2. There are new units. (Yay!)
3. You can't control one single unit to make him powerful anymore. (Aww!)
4. Your units are healed by staying the castle. (Yay!)
5. Mages are totally different. (Yay and aww)
6. 2 different empires. (Yay but you can't play as Chaos)
7. Fast forward button (Yay!)
8. 1 more resource. (aww!)
9. Increased population limit. (YAY!!)
10. Fog of war. (Yay and aww)
(Yays and awws are only my opinion)

Researches (the top 3 most annoying or most useful):

Tower Spawn I & Tower Spawn II: It's useful because tower spawn it gets you free Speartons. Tower spawn II is overpowering because it gives you GIANTS FOR FREE! This sounds amazing but if your enemy researches tower spawn II, good luck, because even if your enemy feels pity for you, he can't control the big blue beast that spawns.

Fire arrows for the archer: It's very useful as the fire arrow that the archer shoots has very high range and gives the enemy a burning effect, which slowly saps their health.

Miner wall: VERY useful as it protects your ranged troops from all units. However, it has low health. You must research an upgrade for this in the Castle, and then your miners can build them.

Units:

Miner: Now can attack, low damage, low health, and gathers resources. (cost: 150 gold)
Swordswrath: Swordman. Low health, decent damage, good in number. They're good at killing: Speartons. (150 gold)
Archidons: Archers. Their damage is MUCH better than it was in the first game. They're now excellent at killing Giants, Speartons, Flying crosssbowmen, Swordsmen, and Shadowraths. (350 gold)
Merics: Healers. Good for healing giants, speartons and mages. (300 gold, 200 mana)
Mages: Spell casters. Has 3 spells: Fireball, poison spray, electric wall. Mages are powerful but pretty costly. good against swordsmen. (500g 400m)
Speartons: High health, good damage. Can't block without a research. And they can't move while they block. (450g 50m)
Shadowrath: Assassin.  They have rather low health, nice damage, but I don't really use them very much. They are useful to run in and kill the merics and mages of the enemy. With Shinobi (a research), they turn invisible and attack one unit with extra damage and poisons the unit that your Shadowrath attacked. they are useful in small numbers like 3-5. (450g 150m)
Enslaved Giant: The enslaved giant is much like the giant from the first game. They have lots of health, and unlike the first giant, they throw rocks instead of hitting people with a giant club. (1500g)

I have only described the units of the Order Empire. For more information about the researches, units, and information about the Chaos researches and units look at the Stick war II Game Guide. Overall, I think this game is very fun to play and in some ways better than the first game. That doesn't mean the first game isn't bad, because it's much better than second one because it was more simple. I know that there are a lot of people that LOVE the second game, and I am almost one of them. If you want to play this game, just click here. Have fun!

Stick War 1

Stick war one is a reasonably strategic game when you are the leader of the nation Order in a land called Inamorta. It was made by Jason Witham (CRAZYJAY) and Brock White. The aim of the game is to destroy your enemies' statue. There is a beta version of it on mobile devices called Stick War Legacy (link for information to download). Unlike the other games (Stick war 2, and Stick empires), You can control one unit to do something you want him to do. When you control a unit, you make him stronger than he was before. The statue you must defend looks like:

There are 6 different units:
Miners: They are your main source of gold. They have low health. They also cannot attack. It's good to have 4-5 of them.
Swordwrath: Swordsman. Good in number (7-10). They have low health but are good at destroying the enemy statue.
Archidon: Archer. Also good in number (5-7). Great at killing speartons and swordsmen, however are bad at killing the mage's minions and giants. They have low health and high attack. But are bad at destroying the enemy statue.
Speartons: Spartans. They have high attack and very good defence. Great at killing giants (when they're controlled) and mages and their annoying minions. Once your enemy has giants, they are almost as vital as your miners.
Magikill: Mages. They have reasonable attack, can stun enemies and can spawn units. They depend on their minions for protection so they have low health. They are VERY slow. Good against archers.
Giants: High attack and very good defence. Can barely be harmed by archers. They're very costly though.

I have grown up with this game ever since before my 2nd grade. I personally love this game so I hope you like it to.
Good luck!
Be sure to try the second game and the online version of the second game (Stick empires) and look at the strategy guide for more information.

The next few games I will review are from the stickpage.  It's got tons of good games so make sure you check it out!
