Harry Potter - The Hogwarts Mystery

Harry Potter

The Hogwarts Mystery

This is a game for all the Harry Potter fans, no matter how whom you are.
This game is played on a mobile phone, and is quite a nice game. You get to be a student in Hogwarts, meeting new friends, make decisions, and go to classes.

Story

The story takes place a around a decade before Harry reaches school. The game starts when you are in Diagon Alley, buying your books for your first year at Hogwarts. There you meet your first and closest friend, Rowan Khanna. There you tell Rowan about your brother, whom had been to Hogwarts and mysteriously disappeared. Then you hop on the Hogwarts Express, and reach your new school. There you are sorted into your house (You get to choose which one you want to be in) and classes start. Soon after that, you meet a nasty Slytherin girl named Merula Snyde. Have an experience locked in a room with Devil's Snare choking you. After that, you start making new friends like Ben Copper, and Penny Haywood. Ben is much like Neville Longbottom, a cowardly Gryffindor, and Penny is a bit like Hermionie Granger, but more interested in potions than anything else. Later, you hear  about the Cursed Vaults, and how they contain cursed ice. I have described only the main parts of the story because the finer details really depend on how you play the game., for example, I am a Slytherin, meaning that Rowan was too, and I tried to stay in the good books if the teachers. I also only described the first year, because that would take too much time to write and read, and I am not yet finished with the second year

Gameplay

The graphics are actually very nice in my opinion, and are somewhat nice to look at. However, the game play overall is not the greatest. I enjoyed talking to people and making different decisions, but the game's mechanic of to make sure you don't finish the game too quickly is to make you spend energy points that replenish over time. you start wit a max of 20 energy points, and once you spend them all, you have to wait 4 minutes for one energy point. To put this in perspective, a class typically takes around 30 - 40 points. The most annoying part is that once you spend all your points and you get out of the game to wait for more, by the time you have enough, you've probably forgotten about it. Though I like this game, many will not due the need to wait for long periods of time to progress in the game.
Good luck and have fun if you are playing this game.
